THE PROBLEM
Traditional ADR was built for conference rooms and paper.
Many arbitration forums still run on emailed exhibits, scheduling by phone, arbitrator deposits and invoices that arrive months later. Every manual step adds time and cost for both sides, and makes it harder to show that each party had the same notice and the same chance to be heard.
Many providers have since layered technology on top of those processes. New Era was built digital-first: our procedures were designed around our technology from day one, so the parties and the Neutral work from one case record instead of inboxes and binders.

Start a case and choose a Neutral
Filing, responding, paying fees and selecting a Neutral all happen on the platform.
Guided intake for both sides
Claimants and Respondents each follow a guided intake that collects case details, documents and contacts in one pass. Everyone starts from the same information.
Pay fees on the platform
Pay fees directly on the platform when you file or respond. One all-in flat fee covers administration, filing, hearing and Neutral fees, as published in our Fee Schedule.
Neutral selection on the platform
The parties rank and strike Neutrals from a vetted panel on the platform, with equal participation by all parties, in compliance with the New Era Rules and Procedures. Neutral disclosures and conflict checks happen there too, so every party sees the same information. Equal participation and full disclosure help ensure an impartial Neutral and a fair process.
File through our API
Any party can file and respond to cases directly from its own systems through the New Era API, which helps organizations that handle disputes at volume. Contact us for access to the API documentation.

Run the whole case in one place
Documents, messages, people and hearings live in the case, not in inboxes.
Drag-and-drop documents with visibility rules
Upload exhibits and filings by dragging them into the case. Built-in visibility rules set who can see each document, depending on whether the case is an arbitration or a mediation.
Secure, role-based messaging
Communicate with authorized case participants through secure, role-based Messages, so every exchange is in the case record instead of scattered across email. Informal motions are raised in Messages too, so the Neutral can resolve procedural issues without formal motion practice in accordance with the New Era Rules and Procedures..
Add any number of collaborators
Invite your legal representation, in-house counsel, paralegals and other team members to a case. There's no limit on collaborators. This is a legal proceeding and New Era ADR recommends that you have legal representation. Representation is not required, though, and you may represent yourself if you choose.
Automatic email updates
Whenever an action is taken on a case, case participants receive an email update automatically, so no one has to log in to find out what changed.
Virtual hearings by video conference
Hearings and mediation sessions are scheduled directly in the case, and each party receives a calendar invite with the video conferencing link. Everyone joins from wherever they are — no travel, no hearing rooms.
AI document summaries for Neutrals
Neutrals can use AI tools to summarize case documents and prepare for each case more efficiently. The Neutral reviews every summary, and all decisions are made by the Neutral. AI tools are used in compliance with New Era's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

Every case ends with a result on record
Arbitration Awards are signed and issued on the platform by the assigned Neutral and are designed to be legally binding and enforceable. Mediation settlement term sheets are signed by both parties. Every Result is saved to the case record.
Signed Awards in Arbitrations
In Arbitrations, the Neutral issues the Award on the platform with a digital signature. Awards include reasoned explanations when applicable.
A formal Award for your records
Each Award is generated as a formal Award PDF that any party can download and submit directly to a court of competent jurisdiction if necessary.
Settlement term sheets signed by both parties
In Mediations, both parties sign any settlement term sheet virtually before it is saved and becomes part of the case record.
Notice when the Result is final
Every party is notified electronically when the Result is finalized, and the Result stays in the case record.

Know what was sent, when, and to whom, with a record that shows due process at every step.
Tracked notification emails
Notices of Complaint and other important case emails are tracked — sent, delivered, opened or failed — so the case record shows whether notice reached its recipient.
