Overview

Michelle is a Co-Founder and the Vice President of Operations at New Era ADR, where she combines deep operational expertise with a strong understanding of legal and compliance frameworks to drive the company’s growth and strategic vision. As the only non-lawyer on the founding team, Michelle brings a distinctive perspective, leveraging her background in compliance and organizational operations to improve efficiency and foster innovation.

Early on in her career as a legal assistant at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago, she quickly recognized that many of the most dynamic opportunities in the legal industry lay outside the traditional practice of law. Drawn to the operational side of the field—legal operations, technology, and compliance—she focused on areas ripe for modernization and impact. That insight has guided her career, positioning her at the intersection of law, technology, and operational excellence.

Before launching New Era, Michelle led compliance and legal operations at Civis Analytics, a fast-growing, venture-backed data science company founded out of President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign. Earlier, she spent nearly a decade at Ocean Tomo Auctions/ICAP Patent Brokerage, advancing to Head of Organizational Operations and Compliance.

Michelle holds a B.A. in Legal Studies from The University of Pittsburgh.
